One of the saddest moments for us as organizers every year is seeing the amount of perfectly good camping gear tossed into the dumpsters. We are asking you to be better stewards of the land and to camp smarter.  Please take the time to consider what is truly essential to your campsite and whether you are able to reuse the items you’re bringing year after year. 

Can you cut down on one-time use plastic purchases? If you can’t travel home with something, do you have a friend that can transport it for you until next year? 

No? 

On Sunday and Monday, hand it to our new Salvage team on your way out. Look for their tents next to the dumpsters in both Main Camp and New Camp. They’re there to assist you and to help us cut down on what we’re sending to the landfill. We'll either put the gear to good use or transport it to a donation center.

This is a Leave No Trace event. Pack everything back up that you came in with. It’s time to bring back our favorite old saying:
